    As you all know, our newspaper is mailed free of charge to 11,000 households and businesses and an additional supply placed around the communities in Valley Center, Pauma, Pala, Palomar and parts of Escondido. The Valley Magazine, with its Western Days edition, will be included to those 11,000 households and additional 4,000 handed out at the parade and at the Western Days festival - coordinated by the Valley Center Press and an army of volunteers in our community. I want to apologize to the participants, sponsors, and vendors who are part of the Stampede Rodeo but will not be included in our publications promoting your businesses and involvement.

  • Harrah's opens $160 million expansion

    Friday Harrah's Resort Southern California (which until recently was known as Harrah's Rincon Resort & Casino) celebrated the grand opening of $160 million worth of improvements and a new marketing campaign: "The First Resort for Fun!" designed to emphasize the non-gaming aspects of the resort as much as the slot machines and table games.

  • The Valley Center Stampede Rodeo Queen Pageant will be held on April 12. Nine contestants will be competing in the categories of Rodeo Queen, Junior Queen, and Young Miss. Contestants that are competing in the Queen Category are between the ages of 17 and 24, Junior Queen contestants are between the ages of 13 and 16, and the Young Miss Contestants are between the ages of 7 and 12. These young ladies have spent the last few months practicing their horsemanship skills, public speaking, modeling, and learning about RODEO.
